yes, this does sound like a lot of meat, and a lot of cooking. I am sure the chefs are wonderful and the food is amazing, I would love to be a judge in the final taste testing and decide the winner!
That looks like the international version of the Iron Chef.
I would enjoy being there to watch them cook and maybe to enjoy the awsome food that will be prepared.
I am really bad at cooking but I love to watch cooking shows and see all of the wonderful foods the amazing chefs cook up. I'm thinking about taking some cooking classes and learn how to cook meat better than I do.
While you are over there watching this competetion is there any way they would also show you how to prepare the meat like they do?
Would the people who do this cooking like the actual chefs, do you think they would be up for giving teaching lessons or classes to show you how to cook like they do, and prepare the food as well as they do.
Brad that's why there are always cooking shows on television.
Carol, you are right there are cooking shows on television, but how are they going to actually "teach" me. They cant go at my pace, and if I need to see something done again, are they going to re-do it, no. Also, if I run across something I have questions about, can they answer them, no. Hands on learning is better.
I agree with Brad. I just agree on him, that's all.
I can't really say a cooking show is going to teach you anything. They have all their ingredients all measured out and all they do is add them in a very showy way. A lot of times I don't even know what the chef is adding to the mix.

If for once you halted your taste buds and paid attention to the chefs on television, you would note a thing or two. I know of people who are normally glued to their screens as they learn new recipes day in day out.The chefs have a busy schedule so I bet you would not get an appointment to be 'taught'. If cooking is your passion, then you will need to work on your speed

Cooking show are my love! I usually make the recipes myself after the shows. Many times I get awful results if I don´t understand what the ingredients are, or the amounts of each thing. The terms confuse me as the stuff is not called the same in my local grocery store. But I try! Love...
Lots of meat indeed..what happens to all that amount after the competition is over? Do the chefs eat them or the participants and audience get to have a taste? Indeed looking for the best chef among a pool of about 2, 000 is a really stiff competition.I guess it would earn international repute if it moved to all parts of the world. In that case, we would have the best chefs drawn from all the continents taking part and neutral judges too...from Mars perhaps.

That was a huge cooking competition there. I have to ask the same question, where does the finish product go? that involves lots of meat, can the audience have a taste with the cooked meat there?I am also a avid cooking show fanatic. I actually got confused by their terms, most especially if i watch confectionery cooking show. But i enjoyed watching it and learn a bit of each session.

I think those cooked meats and others will be distributed to the staff and crew of the show, and if there are left overs then it goes to the audience, but why are we bothering ourselves on where the cooked meat goes after the show?Anyway, i am also an avid cooking show fan, i am to ask you guys on where i could see some free cooking demo in the net, i would love to try exotic food cooking.
Why do we bother our selves over those deliciously cooked meat? When i watch those kinds of shows i just enjoyed the whole show and try to learn some cooking methods and techniques. I don't care how the contestant looks like, i just concentrate on the cooking part. Besides, the contestants were chefs and not super action stars like Bruce Willis so what are we gonna expect over their looks on tv.

From a food channel we can surely learn many things. I for one am a person that used to think that I could never understand, much less do what any of those chefs on cooking networks actually do. Still, I was only a child when those thoughts had crossed my mind. If one was really interested in learning what was being done, they would simply have a pen and paper handy, as onlookers. Other than that, there's always TiVo.
Reply #19 Eve (63.176.159.102) - 11/19/09 11:51
When I mention TiVo, I am speaking about the ability to record any TV show, i.e. the cooking show, and by reviewing it later, in a light that you are simply trying to capture every angle of the procedure, and follow the instructions accordingly.
Reply #20 Eve (63.176.159.2) - 12/03/09 00:25
If no one is able to gather what I am speaking about I am sure that they would be able to source some information concerning TiVO, on the net. This is more than likely the easiest way for on to understand the whole concept behind the TiVO experience.
Reply #21 Eve (63.176.159.155) - 12/08/09 22:36
But simply put, with TiVo, one can record TV, slow it down, rewind it, and according to which frame the show has been processed, it can even be fast forwarded.
Reply #22 Eve (63.176.159.172) - 12/15/09 18:37
At least, I believe that it can be fast forwarded.
