I can't say I have ever had Ukrainian food. What are the specialties in that country. I mean Italy has pasta and the likes and Mexico has the tacos, etc. What does the Ukraine have to offer?

Reply #9 cwemoy (63.176.159.153) -

It seems to me that Tandoori is either of Indian or Chinese descent. I too have not sampled a taste of Ukrainian food but of course there should be something unique about their delicacies. Don't they hold fairs where they display their cuisines and something of the sort because online searches do not seem to be so fruitful or could I say foodful?

I went to an Indian restaurant in New York once. Good stuff but spicy. I felt sick! I think they have several levels if hotness... Regards!

Hi there is one Ukraine Recipe:

Kotlety Po-Kyivskomy (Chicken Kiev)

Ingredients

* 8 skinless, boneless chicken breasts

* 8 Tablespoons butter (1 stick)

* 1 Tablespoon parsley, chopped fine

* 2 eggs

* ½ cup flour (approximately)

* 1½ cups soft bread crumbs

* Vegetable oil for frying

Procedure

1. Cut the butter into eight equal parts, each about the size of your little finger. (Cut the stick of butter lengthwise into quarters, and then cut the quarters in half crosswise.)

2. Roll the butter rectangles in parsley to coat, and set them aside in a cool place.

3. Place the chicken breasts, one at a time, between two sheets of wax paper, and pound them with a rolling pin or kitchen mallet until they are thin. Carefully remove the wax paper.

4. Place one butter rectangle on each chicken breast, and roll the breast around the butter. Press the roll together to form a compact roll. Repeat until all 8 breasts have been rolled.

5. Beat the two eggs lightly in a shallow dish. On a sheet wax paper, spread some flour; spread some bread crumbs on another sheet of wax paper.

6. Dip the rolls first into the flour, then the eggs, and then the bread crumbs.

7. When four rolls are done, heat some oil in a large skillet, and carefully add the rolls. Fry, turning several times, for about 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken rolls are golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a serving dish, cover, and repeat with the remaining 4 rolls. (Keep the first batch warm in the oven set at the lowest temperature.)

I could not help but laugh at your post Mike. I am certain it was not your intention that it comes out that funnily. How would you rate whatever you ate on a scale of 1-10? I have nothing but love for spicy food but only when the spices are used sparingly. I have not heard of restuarants with online menus. What are more common are specific recipes. Ukraine restaurants; anyone?

Reply #13 cwemoy (63.176.159.84) -

If you are planning to travel to Ukraine and these posts are proving to not be of much help, you might be forced to make that big move whilst throwing caution to the wind. It will break no bone if you did and of course there will that unique chance to sample a bit of this and that and finally coming up with what suits you. Doesn't that sound good?

Reply #14 Queenie (63.176.159.62) -

There are certainly some restaurants with online menus. You must be way back of info, those online menus are for online ordering.

I think that online ordering is a good and convenient way to order some food. In the net you can see the photos of the dish unlike if you just phone a restaurant and hear the names of the dish.

I love to eat, and so i know this kind of stuffs.. :)

Reply #15 Mico (63.176.159.89) -

Yes, when we go on vacations, we do online ordering of foods. We also ofcourse eat at restaurants but sometimes late at night we go for online orders. I love those colorful sites that i see with several photos of their delicacies. You can search online for restaurants that offer online menus.

You can try searching and see it for your self.. Ordering has never been this easy thanks to the internet.

To Indian Tandoori:

Aside from offering your specialized Indian foods on the internet, maybe you can also practice professionalism by not using UPPER CASE in typing your message. In that way, your prospective customers would believe in your Ad.

Reply #17 Nico (63.176.159.139) -

So when people use all caps when typing that means they are not professional? I just find the post eye irritating but not unprofessional..

Anyway for those people who would go there in India, then try on the original poster's online menu.

But in case that you do not like the menu or find it a little out of your preference then look for some other online menu in the net.

Ukraine! Soo lovely! And an Indian restaurant there? We are globalized today. You will find a hamburger joint in the Sahara with all the cold beer you need. But the Ukraine is something else. That´s great. Next time I fly in there I will definitely go have dinner.

thanks!

I would not mind eating at an Indian restaurant in Ukraine, but IU surely do think that the food would not be as similar to that of the Indian food that is native to my country, Trinidad and Tobago.

Reply #20 Eve (63.176.159.103) - 12/06/09 19:51

Can anyone give a differentiation between the cuisine of the two countries.

Reply #21 Eve (63.176.159.166) - 12/14/09 12:52

Still waiting for a differentiation people, please help.

Reply #22 Flavio (63.176.159.246) - 12/26/09 20:37

I really do not know but all i can say is that both this cuisine are my favorite and I love them really. Happy eating.

Reply #23 adam (63.176.159.223) - 12/28/09 11:07

Cuisine of such a place would easily be a wonderful thing for one to taste. If the palette would enjoy it, them why should one not sample the offerings.

I have heard from a friend of mine that food in India is great and are spicy most of the time. I have to admit that I would surely love to eat those Indian foods because I love spicy dishes. And just like Eve, I want to know more about the dishes in Ukraine and how its cuisine differs from some other cuisine in the world. But I know they are both delicious.
